The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) seeking the forfeiture of 7.3 million UAH in unexplained wealth from Maksym Vinnytskyi, commander of the 31st Separate Repair and Restoration Regiment of the Operational Command «Pivden» (South). According to investigators, the serviceman registered the high-value assets under the names of his relatives and cohabitant.
The civil forfeiture lawsuit was initiated based on evidence and materials gathered by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
The investigation revealed that between 2023 and 2024, the officer acquired two apartments and two vehicles. The nominal owners of these assets were listed as his mother, his cohabitant, and her mother.
«At the same time, the serviceman himself actually organized the purchase of this property and directly made the payments for it,» prosecutors stated.
Prosecutors conducted a comprehensive financial analysis of the official income and expenses of the regiment commander, his partner, and their immediate relatives. The audit concluded that neither the serviceman nor the nominal owners possessed sufficient legal income to justify the acquisition of these assets.
Given the substantial evidence, SAPO has petitioned the court to rule the assets unjustified and seize them for state revenue, as their legal origin remains highly questionable.
