Law enforcement agencies in Ukraine have significantly expanded their investigation into the drone manufacturer Vyriy Industries, probing the potential operation of a network comprising over 150 private entrepreneurs (FOPs). Recent search operations targeting the company’s offices, co-founder Oleksiy Babenko, and his relatives have now moved beyond routine contract audits. Investigators suspect that a large-scale network of shell entities may have been utilized to manipulate financial flows and alter the reported volume of military equipment deliveries.

According to sources within law enforcement, investigators uncovered documentation and contact details for over 150 private entrepreneurs during the search operations. The preliminary theory suggests these individuals and entities may have been integrated into a structured system designed to register fictitious or inflated commercial transactions tied to UAV manufacturing for the Ukrainian military.
The primary focus of the ongoing investigation is to determine whether this extensive network functioned as a coordinated tool to artificially adjust production volumes and obscure the movement of funds within Vyriy Industries.
Authorities are conducting a detailed review of potential discrepancies between official documentation and actual equipment deliveries. Specifically, investigators are verifying data regarding schemes where official records stated one volume of delivered drones, while the actual quantity deployed to the front lines allegedly differed.
«Concretely, this may not be an isolated incident or a clerical error, but an entire system designed to manipulate prices, product quantities, and financial flows.»
In parallel, experts are analyzing potential mechanisms used to siphon state or donor funds through entrepreneur accounts for subsequent conversion into cash. If these allegations are substantiated, the expansive investigation into Vyriy Industries could become one of the most high-profile cases within the Ukrainian domestic drone manufacturing market.
At present, active investigative measures remain underway, and no formal charges have been brought against the company’s management. Representatives of Vyriy Industries and co-founder Oleksiy Babenko have yet to issue detailed statements regarding the uncovered network of entrepreneurs or the financial manipulation allegations. Officials emphasize that the sheer scale of the audit and the number of entities involved underscore the highly systemic nature of this defense procurement probe.
