On August 27, 2014, the Solidarity party was renamed the Petro Poroshenko Bloc. Former Minister of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lutsenko was elected as the head of the Bloc. According to him, the party will become a platform for uniting all equal democratic forces. In his turn, Petro Poroshenko expressed hope that this would enable the future parliament to implement the reforms he proposed. According to Yuriy Lutsenko, the party expects to get at least 226 people in the elections, while it will support non-party activists in majority districts and is ready to join forces with other political forces.

On September 25, 2014, Poroshenko presented a plan for the development of Ukraine for the next six years, which actually forms the basis of his party’s election program. The “Strategy-2020” envisages the implementation of 60 reforms and special programs, the implementation of which will prepare Ukraine to apply for EU membership in six years.
