Petro Ivanovych Hetsko
Official biography
Mr. Getsko is a native of the village of Kushnytsia in Irshava district, Zakarpattia region. After serving in the army, he entered the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, Faculty of Automation and Electronics, and graduated as a systems engineer. He worked in Kyiv at Rostock JSC. Since 1997, he has been the head of the public organization Zaynosti. He has been a member of the Rusyn movement since 1996. At the II European Congress of Subcarpathian Rusyns, he was elected Prime Minister of the government of the “Subcarpathian Rus” republic.
Petro Hetsko ran for the Verkhovna Rada in 1998 from the all-Ukrainian association “Hromada”:

In 2008, after Getsko and his associates proclaimed the independence of the “Subcarpathian Rus” republic in Minsk, the “prime minister” did not return to Ukraine, but went to Moscow under the wing of FSB curators.
From Russia, Getsko begins a new stage in his career and positions himself for the Kremlin’s media as the leader of Rusyns and the prime minister of the “Subcarpathian Rus” republic. Getsko became particularly active in 2014 with the beginning of the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the occupation of parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. During this period, Getsko visited the annexed Crimea, met with Russian World activists like Pushilin, and held meetings with separatists in Transnistria, South Ossetia, and Abkhazia. On Russia’s central TV channels: NTV, Russia 1, Life News, he also holds press conferences in the press centers of MK and RBC, where he constantly talks about the “genocide of Rusyns,” the terror of nationalists in Transcarpathia, the Moscow sentiments of Transcarpathians, and the readiness to seize power in the region.
In his last appearance on one of the separatists’ pocket media, Getsko spoke in new terms. He expressed his distrust of Hungary and Viktor Orban, whom he had called allies of the Transcarpathian Rusyns in previous years, proclaimed the “restoration” of the Ukrainian SSR, and promised to start repressions against nationalists, ATO soldiers, volunteers, and Maidan activists, of course, after he takes power in the region into his own hands.
Compromising evidence
Getsko and separatist movements:
How the funds received by the prosecutor of the Uzhhorod local prosecutor’s office, Dmytro Kyrylenko, led to the trail of the leadership of the Transcarpathian separatist organizations and their members, who are involved in numerous criminal cases; what deals local prosecutors make with separatists and how separatist cases are “falling apart”; what actions are carried out by separatists in Zakarpattia, how much and who pays them for conducting subversive activities in Ukraine; what is common between Getsko, Moscow priest Dmitry Sidor, convicted of separatism, and members of the Zakarpattia Regional Council; why the NGO liquidated by a court decision for separatism continues to operate at the address of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod. Uzhhorod; how a friend of the Czech President promotes separatism, and how a friend of the Czech President promotes separatism in Uzhhorod; how a friend of the Czech President promotes separatism in Uzhhorod. Uzhhorod; how a friend of the Czech president promotes separatism in Zakarpattia; what positive changes in the work of law enforcement agencies in Zakarpattia are being made by political Rusyns and whether we should expect the arrival of the “Nyasha-Kyrylenko” prosecutor in Zakarpattia.

The declaration of the head of the Uzhhorod local prosecutor’s office, prosecutor Dmytro Pavlovych Kyrylenko, contains rather strange information that a certain citizen Tsuga Vasyl Yuriyovych, who was not his relative, granted him an interest-free loan in the amount of 192,655 UAH back in 2014, which, despite the significant depreciation of the national currency, has not been repaid for years, Despite the significant depreciation of the national currency, neither Tsuga nor prosecutor Dmytro Pavlovych Kyrylenko has been in a hurry to repay the loan for years (as evidenced by Kyrylenko’s 2014 declaration). For example, the prosecutor has not paid a single penny for years to repay such a generous loan or interest on it, preferring to repay personal debts by buying a luxury SUV.
As always, the search for answers begins with the Internet, which provides unexpected answers for each new search query, each time leading to new questions, the answers to which lead to unexpected but quite reasonable conclusions:
For example, in the answers to searches for the prosecutor’s «sponsor’s» surname, name and patronymic, Tsuga’s online network mentions Vasyl Yuriyovych as an active participant and one of the leaders of the so-called Rusyn movement in Zakarpattia, in particular:
According to the data contained in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Organizations, citizen Tsuga Vasyl Yuriyovych (address: 89000, Transcarpathian region, Velykyi Bereznyi district, Malyi Bereznyi village, Tsentralna str. 97) is the director and founder (participant) of the Transcarpathian Regional Charitable Foundation «Rusyn School» (legal entity code 36255000) registered at: 88000, Transcarpathian region, Uzhhorod, Pravoslavna embankment, building 21.
Also registered at the same address (21 Pravoslavna embankment): Uzhhorod City Public Organization «Uzhhorod Cultural and Educational Society named after Oleksandr Dukhnovych» (legal entity code 20452968) and the Regional Union of Public Organizations «People’s Village of Rusyns of Transcarpathia» (legal entity code 34747945), whose head is Yevhen Yevhenovych Zhupan.

It was this organization, headed by E. Zhupan, together with the Association «Union of Subcarpathian Rusyns» (ASPR) (legal entity code 33614482), headed by Dmytro Sydor, who was later convicted of separatism, that in 2008 held the Congresses of Subcarpathian Rusyns, which proclaimed the decision to create the so-called Republic of Subcarpathian Rus, and appointed P. Getsko as the head of the government. The Congresses of Subcarpathian Rusyns, which proclaimed the decision to create the so-called Republic of Subcarpathian Rus, with P. Getsko as head of the government, and the organizations led by Zhupan and Sydor received 25 seats in the government of this entity according to the agreed lists (50 seats were planned in total).

The works of most researchers of political Rusynism clearly show that Hetsko is both a profitable tool for diverting attention from the true «statehood» activities of these organizations and a mouthpiece for their achievements, and in fact remains only one of the many products of the activities of neo-Rusyn leaders and their organizations. In addition to the legal «state» movement, the neo-Orusyn movement has a radical militant wing (P. Hetsko, V. Dzhuhan and others). Wise strategists have assigned it the role of a kind of backup dancer, designed to distract the public from the «statehood» activities of the leaders of the neo-Rusyn movement (E. Zhupan, D. Sydor, P.-R. Magocsi, V. Padyak and many others), as well as to work for their positive image (the rule of the good and evil investigator).

According to the same Register of Legal Entities, the founders of the Russian School Charitable Foundation are Vasyl Tsuga and Valeriy Padyak. According to the list of charitable organizations registered by the Main Department of Justice in the Transcarpathian region, the heads of the Transcarpathian Regional Charitable Foundation “Russian School” included Tsuga V. Y., Padyak V. I., the “father” of political “Rusynism” Magocsi P., and others. It was Paul-Robert Magocsi, a professor at the University of Toronto who, among other things, was accused of collaborating with the KGB and the Czechoslovak State Security, who is rightfully considered the founder of Transcarpathian separatism and Ukrainophobia, the “father” of political “Rusynism.”) Read more about his activities, as well as in his article and book.
And the “program for the protection of Rusyns” developed by P.-R. Magocsi’s “program for the protection of Rusyns” through international pressure on the government of Ukraine, deepening the split of Ukrainian communities in neighboring countries, and the creation of an autonomous republic of Subcarpathian Rus has been discussed and supplemented at world congresses of Rusyns until recently. It was Magocsi who was appointed the first head of the so-called World Congress of Rusyns, which is rightfully considered a political project of the former USSR special services aimed at securing influence in the region, the main and, in fact, only goal of which is to achieve the autonomy of Transcarpathia. The fact that P. R. Magocsi was an agent of the special services of two states was also reported in 1998 in an interview with the newspaper “Nezalezhnist” by one of the leading analysts of the KGB of the USSR V. Shkolnik. It should be noted that during the All-Ukrainian census of 2001, despite significant campaigning efforts by Rusyn organizations to get more Transcarpathians to register as Rusyns, only 10100 people, which was less than 1% of the region’s residents, identified themselves as Rusyns, while 21400 people registered themselves as Hutsuls (over a million Ukrainians).
It is from the address of the Rusyn School Charitable Foundation (legal entity code 36255000) registered at: 88000, Transcarpathian region, Uzhhorod, Pravoslavna embankment, 21, and the tangle of intricacies, “incredible coincidences” and clear facts of the existence of an organization whose real purpose is a clear outright encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, an organization that closely cooperates with the special services of foreign countries, to the detriment of Ukraine’s interests, whose leaders’ activities are always out of the sight of law enforcement agencies, and an organization that closely cooperates with the special services of foreign countries.
Did you help with visas?
In fact, in all criminal cases, their key figures — the so-called political Rusyns — were able to leave the territory of Ukraine without hindrance before being served with a notice of suspicion, which gives rise to the idea that law enforcement agencies deliberately assisted in providing such an opportunity in order to avoid punishment.
On 20.02.2014, the so-called head of the government of the republic of Subcarpathian Rus, Petro Getsko, one of the activists of the association of Rusyn organizations in Transcarpathia “Sejm of Subcarpathian Rusyns”, who has been openly promoting the idea of separatism in the territory of Transcarpathian region since 2008, was wanted. He left through the Konotop checkpoint in a passenger train No. 16 “Uzhhorod-Moscow” and did not return to Ukraine after that (Court decision in the case of P. The events described in this definition coincide with the events of almost all criminal proceedings mentioned in this article, but the materials concerning other defendants are submitted to the court as separate criminal cases, as a result of which they are being considered or have already been considered by the court as separate unrelated cases, arising from the content of the decisions made by the court during their consideration.
The Internet resources from which P. Getsko committed and continues to commit criminal acts against the national security of Ukraine (http://www.facebook.com/petro.getsko, http://getsko-p.livejournal.com/, http:/ /www.facebook.com/rusmatica/, http://rusmatica.org/…) continue to operate openly. Obviously, the prosecutor has not taken any appropriate measures to block these resources.

Strangely enough, even the NGO «Zaynist» (legal entity code 22074358), whose director is P. Getsko, continues to operate in Uzhhorod.

At one time, this organization, together with the Transcarpathian Society of Cyril and Methodius (legal entity code 22115206), headed by Moscow priest D. Sidor, convicted of separatism, founded a legal entity 31072178) at 20 Pravoslavna Embankment, Uzhhorod, which subsequently ceased operations.

The Transcarpathian Regional Association of Citizens «Regional Society of Subcarpathian Rusyns» (legal entity code 26464122) is also registered at 20 Pravoslavna Embankment, whose telephone number 3-41-71 coincides with the telephone number of the Transcarpathian regional organization of the «Znannya» society (legal entity code 2, 8).
On 07.08.2014, the so-called representative of the «Rusyn People’s Army» Vladyslav Sverlovych, a representative of Rusyn organizations in Transcarpathia, the head of the Uzhhorod public association «Rusyn Family» and a member of the aforementioned Transcarpathian regional organizations «Society of Subcarpathian Rusyns» and «Soyma of Subcarpathian Rusyns», while serving a suspended sentence for separatism, freely left Ukraine through the Uzhhorod checkpoint. He is accused in criminal investigations №22014070000000048 (found guilty by a court verdict) and №22015070000000125, criminal cases № 308/8797/14-к.

On 10.10.2014, the defendant in another criminal case, a citizen of Ukraine, Vasyl Vasylovych Tsymbota, allegedly assisted a representative of a foreign organization in training Ukrainian citizens to conduct subversive activities against Ukraine, who received a criminal task to organize rallies in the Zakarpattia region to the detriment of the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine with calls for a change in the administrative and territorial structure of Ukraine by separating the Zakarpattia region from Ukraine and forming the Republic of Subcarpathia.
He is a subject of criminal investigations No. 22016070000000017 and No. 22016070000000014, 22016070000000042, criminal case No. 308/3667/17, the circumstances of which are intertwined with the circumstances described in the decision in the case of P. Getsko No. 308/6140/16.
P. Getsko’s quote from the Russian media:

Vasyl Dzhuhan, a native of Novoselytsia village, Tyachiv district, should be mentioned separately in this list. Novoselytsia village, Tyachiv district, who positions himself as the “Minister of Foreign Affairs” in the so-called government of P. Getsko of the Republic of Subcarpathian Rus. According to the court rulings, the investigation established that V. Dzhuhan, heading the World Congress of Subcarpathian Rusyns, in order to commit illegal actions to the detriment of the interests of Ukraine in general, openly promoted the ideas of separatism, and with the assistance and financial support of the Russian side in 2014-2015 held events in Romania, the Czech Republic and Poland, which were widely covered by the Russian media. Dzhuhan registered in the Czech Republic the organization “World Council of Subcarpathian Rusyns”, co-chaired by P. Getsko himself, as well as Dzhuhan’s wife, daughter and son-in-law, registered as the “World Council of Subcarpathian Rusyns” (Code: 265 63 835; Masarytsia Street 1; , Czech Republic). Transcarpathia first learned about Dzhuhan from the list of self-proclaimed high-ranking officials of the “Republic of Subcarpathian Rus”, which was published back in 2008.

The court upheld the verdict against the “prime minister” of the “Republic of Subcarpathian Rus” Petro Getsko. He was sentenced in absentia to 12 years for treason
On April 27, the Lviv Court of Appeal upheld the sentence of Petro Getsko. In 2019, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison. At that time, the Mukachevo City District Court of the Zakarpattia region found Getsko guilty of high treason under Article 110, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code, encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine under Article 111, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, and actions aimed at the violent seizure of state power.
In the winter of 2014, during the Revolution of Dignity, Getsko opposed the Maidan and on behalf of the Network Rusyn Movement wrote an appeal to the participants of the Munich Security Conference, as well as to the State Duma and the President of Russia.
Court decision in the case of P. Getsko:

«We, Rusyns, like all residents of Transcarpathia, have all international legal grounds to appeal to you, Mr. President, to recognize the restored statehood of the Republic of Subcarpathian Rus (RPR), to conduct a peacekeeping operation at this time and to neutralize Galician Nazism in Transcarpathia,» Getsko wrote on his LiveJournal page on January 28, 2014. Getsko lived in Moscow and not only wrote but also made similar statements in public.
In January-March 2014, he appeared on the Russian TV channels TVC and ROY TV. Getsko told Russian journalists that he did not recognize the existing borders of Ukraine and called on the Russian authorities to recognize the «Republic of Subcarpathian Rus».
Getsko on Myrotvorek:

On April 30, after the change of power in Kyiv, the SBU opened a criminal case against him. The investigation decided that Getsko’s words constituted an encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
The investigation also found that after the annexation of Crimea and the outbreak of war in eastern Ukraine, he continued to give interviews to Russian media and spoke at a seminar organized by former Ukrainian politicians operating in the uncontrolled territory, the Ukrainian Gambit II. Getsko promised that in October 2014 he would proclaim the «Republic of Subcarpathian Rus» and did not rule out that he would do so militarily.

«If no other, adequate measures are taken by Ukraine now…, in October, under any scenario, there will be a Republic of Subcarpathian Rus, in addition to Donetsk and Luhansk,» Getsko announced to the seminar participants. He assured the participants that he had enough people and weapons to «block the pass» and seize power in Zakarpattia in two days. The SBU viewed Getsko’s speech as an encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The SBU believes that in July 2014, Getsko «entered into a secret agreement» in Moscow with some persons whom the investigation failed to identify. As part of this cooperation, he prepared a «Plan to ensure the federal status of Transcarpathia». The document showed that on October 15-25, Getsko planned to seize administrative buildings and the Uzhhorod airport and to address Kyiv with a proposal to sign a federal agreement.

Getsko wanted to do all this with the help of some “radical units of the Rusyn movement” and the forces of the Hungarian community controlled by the For a Better Hungary party. Reflecting on the seizure of power, Hetsko mentioned the Rusyn Family organization. In particular, he wrote that he wanted to increase its number to 1000 people, create 4 mobile groups and hold 5-6 protests against the policies of central and local authorities every month. According to the investigation, Getsko coordinated his actions with some unidentified persons.
The court’s decision does not specify what prevented Getsko from carrying out his plans. The court ruled that the statements and the written plan for the seizure of power were sufficient to find Getsko guilty of committing acts of violent seizure of state power.
During the search, more than a hundred “decrees” were found in Getsko’s possession, which he signed, introducing himself as the Prime Minister of the “Republic of Subcarpathian Rus”. During the trial, witnesses recalled that Getsko started calling himself that in 2008. At that time, he held a “European Congress” in one of Mukachevo’s beer bars, where he proclaimed himself the head of the “republic’s” government. After that, Getsko moved to Moscow.
He posted numerous plans for the creation of Ruthenian autonomy on his page in LiveJournal. The investigation believed that Getsko wrote documents with loud titles, such as “counter-terrorist operation in Zakarpattia”, at the request of a Russian organization. The court recognized Getsko’s actions as assistance in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.
The investigation and the court did not establish where Getsko is now. He continues to write in the Live Journal. Getsko’s defense lawyer, Vladislav Sidun, told Grata that he considers the verdict illegal and unfounded.
Rusyns ask Putin to turn Western Ukraine into Carpathian Rus
The International Center “Mother of Rusyns” appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to turn Western Ukraine into Carpathian Rus “on the rights, mandates, titles of Rusyns”. This is stated in a statement published on the organization’s website.

LEADER OF UKRAINIAN RUSYNS ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF A “SECOND FRONT
December 9, 2014.
The leader of Ukrainian Rusyns Petro Getsko announced the opening of a “second front” in Ukraine at a press conference, Argumentir reported on December 9.
The press conference of the prime minister of the “Republic of Subcarpathian Rus” was held in Rostov-on-Don at the RBC South press center. Petro Getsko reported on the facts, in his opinion, of genocide against Rusyns by the Ukrainian government. He noted that Rusyns do not demand separation from Ukraine, but intend to seek real autonomy from the Kyiv authorities and see Subcarpathian Rus as part of Ukraine, but not as a unitary state, but as a confederation.

Now, according to Getsko, the Rusyns, following the DPR and LPR, are opening a “second front,” but so far it is a peaceful one. However, according to the Rusyn leader, if Ukraine continues its previous policy, it could end in casualties. “And we know them all by sight,” he said.
According to Getsko, “if anything,” they are ready to seize power by force. “Now there are about seven hundred military personnel on our territory who obey Kyiv, and we can put fifteen thousand people under the gun, and three thousand of them are former special forces and paratroopers. Moreover, we will do it so quickly that no one will have time to prevent it. Taking control of the passes will not be a problem for the locals. And believe me, no one, I emphasize no one, will be able to prevent us from doing this,” said the leader of the Rusyn Network Movement. However, in his opinion, there can be no large-scale violent clashes in Subcarpathia, because energy and transport transits to Europe pass through this region, and it is in the interests of European countries to keep it safe.
Petro Getsko also noted that the European Parliament is scheduled to hold hearings on the recognition of the Rusyn nation in late January and early February 2015. An ombudsman from Brussels will come to the territory of Subcarpathian Rus’ to examine all the “facts of genocide” of Rusyns by the Ukrainian government. Getsko invited members of the Russian State Duma to participate in this process.
The leader of the Transcarpathian Rusyns, Petro Getsko, is wanted
The Security Service of Ukraine has put Petro Getsko, the prime minister of the “Republic of Subcarpathian Rus”, which was proclaimed in April after the events in Donetsk and Luhansk, on the wanted list. In response, Petro Getsko said that the residents of Transcarpathia are ready to put the representatives of the Kyiv junta on the wanted list themselves. Here is a quote from his statement:
“I was put on the wanted list in connection with the situation in the southeast and the demands that Rusyns put forward to the junta representatives in Transcarpathia. Now we are on a parity basis with the Kyiv authorities, we have more rights and a mandate of trust no less than that of the security services of Ukraine,” said the mayor of Transcarpathia. ”We can put the head of the Transcarpathian SBU office and the leader of the Right Sector in Transcarpathia on the wanted list ourselves. If they think that our demands are someone’s invention, they are mistaken. The people will follow us, because now the legitimacy of the Kyiv authorities is zero.

We are all waiting for May 11, when our ultimatum expires. And if our conditions are not met, if the Kyiv authorities do not disarm the Right Sector, if part of the Geneva agreements is not implemented, we will take active action.”
Getsko and Jobbik fascists create terrorist organization “Legion of St. Istvan”
01.06.2014
In recent days, the Transcarpathian separatist Petro Getsko, referring to the support of the far-right Jobbik party (Hungary), has been posting on social media to create a terrorist organization called the Legion of St. Istvan, which aims to overthrow the constitutional order in Ukraine.

Dmytro Sydor will win the case against Ukraine in the ECHR, — Prime Minister of Subcarpathian Rus
November 06, 2012.
The Prime Minister of the unrecognized Republic of Subcarpathian Rus, Petro Getsko, said in a commentary to KPUNEWS that he has no doubt that one of the leaders of the Rusyn movement, Father Dmytro Sydor, will win the case in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
Earlier, a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, Father Dmytro Sydor, was sentenced to 3 years’ probation on charges of separatism. On October 29, the High Specialized Court of Ukraine rejected Sydor’s appeal against the decision of the Zakarpattia Regional Court of Appeal and upheld the sentence. After that, Sydor announced his decision to apply to the ECHR.
In a comment to KPUNEWS, Getsko said: “I have no doubt that Father Dymytriy will win. There are good reasons for this.”
Summary
Petro Getsko is a separatist who tried his best to split Ukraine and seize power. For this purpose, he even began to cooperate with Russia and spread fakes. We are looking forward to his return to Ukraine, where he will be imprisoned, unless, of course, the people tear him apart on their own.
