The court banned the activities of the Opposition Platform - For Life political party in Ukraine. The decision to ban OPFL was made on the basis of a presidential decree and a decision of the National Security and Defense Council. They were based on evidence of its destructive activities collected as part of the SBU's response to threats to national security.

“The Opposition Platform — For Life (OPFL) is a pro-Russian socialist political party banned in Ukraine.

History of the party
In the 2002 parliamentary elections, the party participated in the electoral bloc of political parties People’s Movement of Ukraine. A list of 104 candidates was registered in the multi-mandate constituency, and 101 candidates were registered in the single-mandate constituencies. As a result of the elections, the bloc received 41,730 votes (0.16%), ranking 24th out of 33 participants.
In October 2004, Stepan Havrysh was elected chairman of the party .
In the 2006 parliamentary elections, the party participated as part of the Opposition Bloc “Not So”, having 3% of the total list. In the parliamentary elections, Havrysh represented the Center party in the top ten of the bloc’s list, coming in seventh. According to the election results, the bloc received 257,106 votes (1.01%), ranking 11th among 45 participants.
In 2007, Stepan Havrysh resigned from his position as party chairman; his deputy, former party leader Viktor Holovko, became acting chairman.
In the early parliamentary elections of 2007, the party participated in the electoral bloc of political parties KUCHMA (Constitution — Ukraine — Honor — Peace — Antifascism). According to the election results, the bloc received 23 thousand 676 votes (0.10%), ranking 18th among 20 participants.
On March 20, 2014, Vadym Rabinovych was elected leader of the party. On September 15 of the same year, it merged with the parties New Policy, State Neutrality, Ukraine — Forward, Trudova Ukraina and the Party for the Development of Ukraine to form the Opposition Bloc.
For Life.
On May 13, 2016, the party announced its withdrawal from the Opposition Bloc. This decision was made at the party congress held on May 12.
On July 26, 2016, Yevhen Muraiev and Vadym Rabinovych renamed the Center party into the For Life party.
Opposition Platform — For Life
On July 28, 2018, Viktor Medvedchuk, the leader of the Ukrainian Choice — People’s Right social movement, joined the For Life party. On November 5, 2018, Viktor Medvedchuk was elected chairman of the political party For Life.

On November 9, 2018, the co-chair of the Opposition Bloc, Yuriy Boyko, and Za Zhyttia signed an agreement on cooperation in the 2019 presidential and parliamentary elections. A united Opposition Platform — For Life was created. On the same day, other leaders of the Opposition Bloc stated that the agreement was a “personal initiative” and that the Opposition Bloc had not made any decisions on cooperation with the Za Zhyttia party.
On November 17, 2018, the Development Party of Ukraine (part of the Opposition Bloc) joined the Opposition Platform — For Life. On the same day, other leaders of the Opposition Bloc, Vadym Novynskyi and Borys Kolesnikov, stated that the agreement was a “personal initiative” of Boyko and that the Opposition Bloc had not made any decisions on cooperation with Za Zhyttia.
On November 20, 2018, after Boyko was expelled from the Opposition Bloc (for “betraying the interests of his voters”), he announced the creation of a new parliamentary group, Opposition Platform — For Life.
On May 27, 2019, members of the Opposition Platform — For Life political party unanimously elected MPs Vadym Rabinovych and Yuriy Boyko as co-chairs of the party. MP Serhiy Lovochkin was elected chairman of the political council and chairman of the party’s strategic council.
As a result, in the 2019 parliamentary elections, the Opposition Platform — For Life party won 37 seats in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation on party lists. The party won 13.05% of the vote.
On March 20, 2022, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine suspended the activities of the Opposition Platform — For Life party for the duration of martial law.
On April 14, 2022 , the Verkhovna Rada suspended the activities of the Opposition Platform — For Life faction. The suspension was dictated by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to ban the activities of some political parties, including the OPFL, for the period of martial law.
On April 21, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation created the Platform for Life and Peace (PLP) parliamentary group, which included 25 MPs from the Opposition Platform — For Life faction.
On May 12, 2022, the dissolution of the OPFL faction was announced in parliament.
On June 20, 2022, the Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal in Lviv decided to ban the activities of the Opposition Platform — For Life political party.

Finances:
In 2019, the party received more than UAH 116 million in contributions, and its expenses amounted to almost UAH 114 million. Official campaign spending amounted to UAH 58.5 million, of which 80% went to television advertising, almost half of which was on Inter TV channel.
According to the declarations, the Opposition Platform — For Life party is financed by the largest number of oligarchs. It is also known that the party concealed its spending on social media advertising during the election campaign.
In 2018, a criminal investigation was opened because the party was financed by fictitious companies. One of the party’s owners, Viktor Medvedchuk, failed to declare a yacht worth $200 million, about 23 hectares of coastline in Bulgaria, and dozens of real estate properties in Ukraine owned by his family, which were not listed in the mandatory declaration for 2019.
