Party history.
- The party was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on March 31, 2014. Yatsenyuk and Turchynov left Batkivshchyna after the party’s political congress decided on August 21, 2014 that Yulia Tymoshenko would lead the party’s list in the parliamentary elections. At this congress, Yatsenyuk was elected chairman of the party’s political council, while Turchynov became head of the central headquarters. The party’s founders were also the commanders of territorial defense battalions participating in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. They became members of the party’s “military council” (though they are not full members of the party).
- In September 2014, it was reported that the People’s Front and the Petro Poroshenko Bloc held talks on joint participation in the parliamentary elections. As of September 12, the two political parties had only agreed that the Petro Poroshenko Bloc would not run candidates in 10 majority districts in order not to compete with the People’s Front. The next day, Yatsenyuk said that the People’s Front would run independently.
- In the 2014 snap parliamentary elections, the People’s Front party won the largest number of votes (3,488,114 votes — 22.14%), which allowed it to win 64 seats on party lists in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the VIII convocation.
- In October, the party announced that it was preparing for the parliamentary elections. In January 2018, the party’s congress was to decide on a candidate for the 2019 presidential election.
- The party did not participate in the 2019 parliamentary elections.

According to the Chesno civic movement, in 2016, the People’s Front did not reflect in the party’s financial report about UAH 1.3 million spent on 646 news items on 11 leading websites, which were based on press releases.
The Committee of Voters of Ukraine accuses the party of avoiding reporting to the NACP and tax evasion due to the lack of registration of more than 600 party branches as legal entities.
Some party members are accused of illegal enrichment. Notary Olha Mykolaivna Pynzenyk, wife of MP Pavlo Pynzenyk from the People’s Front, declared income of UAH 14 million from her professional activities in 2016. This is seven times more than the income she received over the past five years. This is evidenced by the data of Pavlo Pynzenyk’s declarations for 2012-2016.
