The head of a military unit’s canteen was detained for corruption in Dnipro.
The editorial office of 368.media learned about this from criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 410 of the Criminal Code.
According to the investigation, the head of the military unit’s food warehouse (a senior soldier), with the aim of embezzling food, entered into a conspiracy with the head of the canteen at the end of April.
The essence of the scheme was to artificially create food surpluses allocated for military personnel for further sale. The sergeant agreed to this.
He was introduced to an individual entrepreneur who was engaged in retail trade in non-specialized stores.
Since June 2023, the senior soldier, acting in prior conspiracy with the sergeant, being a military official, abused his official position, having received products in the warehouse of the military unit, and appropriated them. The sergeant then transported the goods in a Ford Transit outside the military unit. In total, the offenders managed to sell food worth UAH 196.5 thousand.
The head of the canteen was arrested. There is no information yet about the entrepreneur and the warehouse manager.
