The wife of Hennadii Kolesnik, former deputy head of the Oleksandriia District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC) in Kirovohrad Oblast, acquired a 2014 Audi Q5 in May 2025 for a declared value of 50,000 UAH (approx. $1,200), roughly 12 times below its standard market price. The transaction was revealed following a detailed review of the official’s financial disclosures. Currently, the average secondary market price for a similar German SUV of that model year exceeds 600,000 UAH.
In a statement to journalists, the former official confirmed that the purchase was indeed executed for the amount listed in the declaration. According to Kolesnik, the anomalously low price for the premium vehicle was due to a severe mechanical fault, claiming the SUV was bought with a broken engine, which significantly reduced the contract value.
The Audi Q5 was not the only addition to the family’s assets over the past year. In 2025, the family fleet expanded with another luxury vehicle—a 2012 Jaguar XF sedan. While the car was officially registered under the former official’s daughter, the primary user of the vehicle turned out to be the former recruitment center deputy chief himself.
«The car belongs to my daughter, who lives in Kyiv and frequently travels abroad for work. Due to the high cost of parking in the capital, keeping the car there is impractical, so she leaves it with me in Oleksandriia. That is the only reason I drive it periodically,» explained Hennadii Kolesnik regarding the luxury vehicle’s usage.
According to data from the Unified State Register of Declarations, the Kolesnik couple also owns two apartments in Oleksandriia, Kirovohrad Oblast. Personally, the former TCC deputy chief owns only one officially registered vehicle: a Soviet-era VAZ 21013.
For 2025, Hennadii Kolesnik declared 487,000 UAH in salary from his main position at the district recruitment center, along with 37,000 UAH in pension payments. His wife’s total official income proved substantially higher, exceeding 1.19 million UAH. This total comprised 487,000 UAH in salary, 50,000 UAH from property rental income, and 660,000 UAH generated from entrepreneurial activities.
The publication of these financial disclosures and suspicious automotive transactions sparked widespread public indignation and media scrutiny. Following the scandal, Hennadii Kolesnik officially resigned from his post as deputy head of the Oleksandriia District TCC.
Despite the stark discrepancies between declared values and market rates, there is currently no record of entries into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations. Law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies have not yet announced any official investigations or criminal proceedings regarding potential false asset declarations or illicit enrichment.
