Iryna Klymko, a member of the Poltava City Council from the «For the Future» party and stepdaughter of former Poltava mayor Oleksandr Mamay, has released her financial declaration for 2025. According to the document, the official holds substantial cash reserves, luxury property, and business stakes—a stark contrast to her official annual salary.
The details emerged from Ukraine’s Unified State Register of Declarations. Klymko is widely known as the stepdaughter of former Poltava Mayor Oleksandr Mamay.
For 2025, Klymko declared $800,000 and €220,000 in cash. Additionally, she holds a 33.34% stake in «Poltava Real Estate Group» LLC, valued at over 17.1 million UAH.
However, her official salary from the company for the entire year amounted to just 141,984 UAH. Meanwhile, her husband, Volodymyr Bakumenko, declared over 6.46 million UAH in business income.
Her assets include a 2024 Porsche Cayenne with a declared value of 4.86 million UAH. The family’s real estate holdings comprise multiple apartments, houses, and land plots, including a 1,000 sq m plot in Sevastopol acquired in January 2014.
The declaration of Klymko’s husband highlights a 5 million UAH bail payment posted for an unnamed third party pursuant to a Kyiv Court of Appeal ruling. The specific beneficiary of the bail is not identified in the public filing.
Klymko and her family have previously drawn public and regulatory scrutiny:
Conflict of Interest (2013–2014): Under the leadership of her stepfather, Mayor Oleksandr Mamay, the city council granted Klymko permits for seven commercial structures. A lower court fined her for failing to report a conflict of interest, but an appellate court overturned the decision in June 2014.
Municipal Tender (2017): «Depot Group» LLC, a firm linked to Klymko, won a 1.039 million UAH municipal tire contract despite submitting the highest bid. Following public outcry, the municipal enterprise canceled the contract.
Her stepfather, former Mayor Oleksandr Mamay, was convicted by the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) in 2023 for embezzling public funds. After securing a plea bargain, he received a suspended sentence, paid restitution, donated 2 million UAH to the military, and was removed from office.
