Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees enacting four new decisions of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to impose large-scale personal sanctions. The updated restriction lists target former People’s Deputy from the «Party of Regions» Yuriy Ivaniushchenko, alongside dozens of Russian officials, propagandists, and collaborators. This is confirmed by official decrees published on the Presidential Office website.
One of the key sanction packages targets 45 individuals and 8 legal entities. The financial and administrative restrictions apply to individuals directly justifying Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, facilitating the operation of occupation administrations, and supporting the aggressor state’s operations in occupied territories.
A notable figure on the updated lists is Yuriy Ivaniushchenko, a former MP of the 6th and 7th convocations representing the «Party of Regions,» widely known in the media as «Yura Yenakiyevsky.»
According to the Presidential Office, commercial entities controlled by the former politician continue to operate and conduct business in temporarily occupied Crimea, paying taxes into the budget of the aggressor state.
Furthermore, the former MP remains a key figure in high-profile investigations by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. Specifically, he is suspected of involvement in a scheme involving the illegal laundering of land plots valued at over 160 million UAH.
«Ukraine’s sanctions policy is aimed at the complete freezing of assets belonging to individuals who collaborate with the aggressor, finance occupation regimes, or attempt to evade accountability for crimes against the state,» the Presidential Office stated.
The enacted measures are long-term and include a standardized set of actions designed to freeze the targets’ resources:
Full asset freezing and temporary restriction of rights to use or dispose of property;
Prohibition of commercial transactions and transit of resources;
Complete suspension of economic and financial obligations;
Ban on the withdrawal of capital outside Ukraine and revocation of state awards.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is expected to inform competent authorities in the European Union, the United States, and other partner nations regarding these sanctions to facilitate international alignment.
