Natalia Basalyha, Senior Inspector at the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), reported purchasing an Acura MDX crossover for just 100 UAH and disclosed 1 million UAH earned by her husband at LLC Ukravtonomgaz in her 2025 asset declaration. Meanwhile, the actual market value of the declared vehicle is hundreds of times higher, according to official public records.
According to the declaration, Natalia Basalyha acquired a 2008 Acura MDX on April 23, 2024. The official purchase price listed is 100 UAH. However, the average price for a similar model on the Ukrainian used car market ranges between 400,000 and 550,000 UAH.
The family’s vehicle fleet also includes two cars owned by her husband, Viktor Basalyha: a 1995 Nissan Sunny (purchased in 2008 for 35,000 UAH) and a 2004 Volkswagen Bora (acquired in 2017 for 161,000 UAH).
The inspector’s primary source of income was her salary at the SBGS, which totaled 692,000 UAH for 2025. Her husband reported 1 million UAH in salary from LLC Ukravtonomgaz—a company that has repeatedly drawn public attention over its energy sector contracts.
Additionally, both spouses received 1,000 UAH each under the state’s «Winter Support» assistance program.
While registered in the village of Obukhovychi (Vyshhorod district), the family resides in Hatne (Fastiv district, Kyiv region). Since 2016, they have occupied a 65.2 sq. m apartment valued at 1.5 million UAH owned by AMC Crystal Asset Management LLC. Viktor Basalyha rents the property and holds a collateral payment obligation of 244,000 UAH to the asset management company.
He also owns a 2.7 sq. m non-residential unit in Hatne, acquired in 2021 for 35,000 UAH. In September 2025, he secured a bank loan of 440,000 UAH from Ukrsibbank, ending the year with an outstanding balance of 385,000 UAH.

The glaring discrepancy between the declared 100 UAH purchase price of the Acura MDX and its fair market value warrants a thorough investigation by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention into potential undisclosed income or illegal gifts. Further scrutiny is required regarding the absence of declared liquid financial assets despite multiple open bank accounts, as well as the long-standing financial obligation tied to the corporate-owned residential property.
