A former head of logistics for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, Andrii Ukrainets, has been served with a formal notice of suspicion for unlawful enrichment exceeding 20 million UAH ($480,000). The official, who was already under investigation for alleged embezzlement of state funds allocated for critical defense infrastructure, now faces fresh charges following a financial crackdown by law enforcement agencies.

According to the pre-trial investigation, the lieutenant colonel acquired high-value real estate and luxury vehicles between 2020 and 2025. The total market value of these purchases exceeds his officially declared income and legitimate savings for the period by at least 20 million UAH.
To evade financial monitoring and regulatory scrutiny, the suspect registered the assets under the names of close relatives and associates—including his parents, son, domestic partner, and a family friend. However, evidence gathered by investigators demonstrates that Ukrainets remained the sole actual owner and beneficiary of the entire property portfolio.
Law enforcement officers revealed an extensive array of undisclosed property tied to the suspect’s inner circle:
Residential Properties: Six apartments located in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, and Zhytomyr, along with three private houses in the Zhytomyr region.
Resort Real Estate and Land: Apartments in the high-end Bukovel ski resort, as well as six prime land plots.
Vehicles and Facilities: Four vehicles, including premium Audi Q7 and Audi Q5 crossovers, alongside private garages and commercial real estate.
Financial auditors confirmed that neither Ukrainets nor his registered proxy owners possessed any verifiable, lawful sources of income capable of covering these acquisitions.
Ukrainets has officially been charged under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unlawful enrichment). If convicted, the statute carries a penalty of imprisonment along with a ban on holding public office.
Prosecutors have filed a motion with the court requesting pre-trial detention as a preventive measure, with bail set at over 21 million UAH. The pre-trial investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to look for additional undisclosed offshore accounts or hidden assets.
