Compromising evidence
In February 2022, he lied about external influence after the start of the Russian offensive. The politician came up with a conspiracy theory about some “them” who led to the war, so that Ukrainians would hate Russians and Europe would quarrel with Russia. Judging by Burmych’s hints, he suspects the United States, because “it is definitely not profitable for Russia.” Prior to that, the MP had been raising panic about the Ukrainian government, which does not agree to negotiate “anywhere” and apparently plans to die “all together.” And, of course, this proposal for the defense of Ukraine: “I cannot fully understand this situation. What and at what cost, and why?” This is not the only such statement by Burmych.

Already as a member of the Verkhovna Rada’s Anti-Corruption Committee, Anatoliy Burmych made a high-profile statement to the 112 Ukraine TV channel. The statement implied that the committee’s decision-making was, in fact, influenced by phone calls from above. And this, according to the MP, is «a confirmation of external control» and «humiliation of MPs and the entire Verkhovna Rada.»
The essence of the situation, which received such a disappointing assessment by Burmych, is that the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, in violation of the rules of procedure, was forced to reconsider its earlier decision on one of the amendments to draft law No. 1031 — on the threshold for criminal liability in case of illicit enrichment. Anastasia Krasnosilska, the chair of the committee and MP from the Servant of the People party, returned her colleagues to the issue already under consideration after she received a call allegedly from the Prosecutor General, who, in turn, was allegedly asked to change the «threshold of punishment» by the IMF and the World Bank.
As a result, the Anti-Corruption Committee almost halved the threshold for illicit enrichment, which triggers criminal prosecution, to UAH 6 million 243 thousand 250 (6,500 tax-free minimum incomes). While initially the committee proposed 12 thousand minimums.
Burmych has a low rating according to the Slovo i Dilo website. He has not fulfilled most of his promises:

In 2005, Anatoliy Burmych’s name was mentioned in discussions of personnel appointments in the top management of the National Security Service of Ukraine. In particular, the appointment of a 39-year-old «hereditary Chekist» Andriy Kozhemiakin as the head of the K Department, the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime, and at the same time as the Deputy Head of the SSU (he held this position from April to September 2005). The media speculated that, amidst the active struggle for leverage in the «security forces» and the country’s top leadership in general, this «promotion» was initiated by Oleksandr Turchynov, who was then briefly the head of the SBU, and who needed his own man in the SBU’s K Department as opposed to the elite investigative body, the National Bureau of Investigation, being created by then-NSDC Secretary Petro Poroshenko.
According to Wikipedia, Burmych has been an active voice on the Nash TV channel with an anti-Ukrainian position:

The media wrote at the time that Kozhemiakin, who had just been promoted to colonel, was competing in the K Department with Major General Anatolii Burmych, another «hereditary Chekist» and nephew of former Deputy Head of the SBU Anatolii Belyaev, who was the head of the K Department of the SBU in November 1994-February 1998. By the way, Belyaev was called in the press the person who «launched Yushchenko’s ‘national banking case’ in 1999». There are no direct references to the case — perhaps this refers to the case of misuse of IMF funds that had been coming to the country since 1998, and the accusations against the head of the National Bank of misusing Ukraine’s gold reserves and foreign currency in 1997-1998. At that time, the first deputy head of the NBU, Volodymyr Bondar, allegedly withdrew $700 million from the International Monetary Fund through Cyprus to the accounts of the Swiss-American bank Credit Suisse First Boston. It is not known where most of the funds from the IMF loan went. Bondar and his lawyers called his arrest in 2001 «purely political» and aimed at discrediting the successful former head of the NBU (1993-1999) and promising and popular Prime Minister Viktor Yushchenko.
Since 2007, the Ukrainian media (in particular, the newspaper «Personnel Plus») have been publishing articles about the so-called «drug business of the Chabad sect and the unsavory role of certain representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in it». At the same time, «Personnel Plus» relied on materials handed over to the editorial office by a certain intelligence officer A. Larin, who was in a penal colony on a fabricated criminal case. According to the newspaper, «the head of the executive branch was General Andriy Kozhemiakin, the head of the main department of the «KR» of the SBU» (later he became the head of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc’s security service). And the name of a certain Burmych is mentioned among the five «officers of the SBU head’s staff» who «smuggled drugs into Ukraine». In particular, it was about the delivery of 6 tons of cocaine by the Panamanian ship Proroga to Ilyichevsk in January-February 2002, and the organization of the arrival of the Russian-flagged ship Castor in September 2004 to raid the Kherson port and unload 6 tons of cocaine from it under the cover of the SBU. According to the source, the proceeds from its sale were planned to organize elections of «the right people» to deputies of various levels and mayors of Ukrainian cities.
Anatoliy Burmych’s name appeared in the publication «Serhiy Nechyporenko as the Face of Ukrainian Special Services in the Times of Smeshko and Dryzhchany» on the website of the Civil Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine in December 2006. According to the article, Burmich, «being afraid of a possible high-profile criminal case against SBU officers, ordered not to register the statement of citizen Perederiy about the disappearance of her son, Oleksandr from Luhansk. As it turned out later, the son was killed. And Nechyporenko (Head of the SBU Internal Security Department in 2004), with a clear conscience, on the instructions of Satsyuk (Volodymyr Satsyuk, First Deputy Head of the SBU in 2004) and at the request of Burmych, began to take dastardly actions against the SBU employee who knew about all these crimes…».
However, in an open letter from the parents of the murdered Oleksandr Perederiy, Svitlana and Oleksandr Perederiy, residents of Luhansk, Burmych’s name is mentioned in passing. The latter appears in the text of the letter as the «former boss» of the employee of the department «K», the assistant head of the department, Colonel Valentyn K., whom the parents of the murdered man suspected, not without reason, of organizing the murder of their son and of appropriating his car in May 2004. And Burmich — as a witness in the case — allegedly said that K. «works in a specially created position for him, without even having functional responsibilities». In addition, the letter shows that Burmich, together with the head of the SBU Internal Security Department, Serhii Nechyporenko, told the court about the incompetence of Colonel K. and about «violations committed by the latter in his work, ignoring all regulatory documents and departmental orders governing the activities of the Security Service of Ukraine.»
On September 11, 2019, Anatolii Burmych, already as a Member of Parliament of Ukraine, was «caught» at a plenary session of the Parliament using his phone to communicate. The photo was published by photographer Yan Dobronosov on his Facebook page. The following dialog was recorded on the phone’s display. Burmych: «Will you let me go on Thursday, Friday and Monday? I’m planning to visit Tony in Odesa». Response: «Hi! We need to get Petrovych oriented in Veselo.»
Burmych’s correspondence during the Verkhovna Rada session was posted on social media:

Due to the extremely limited publicly available data on Anatolii Burmych, it is not possible to cover his work in the SSU ‘Slavs’ Alpha veterans’ association, where he was (or is) the head of the department. In particular, it is unclear whether Burmych served in the SBU’s Special Operations Center “A” (called the Alpha special unit for short).
In 2019, he was elected as a member of the 9th convocation of the Opposition Platform — For Life party, number 20 on the list as a member of the party. Member of the faction of the same name. Member of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy.
Burmych is a politician. He would have been better off continuing to trade
MPs from the OPFL faction in the parliament demand the arrest of Turchynov.
This follows from a statement posted on the website of the Opposition Platform — For Life.
MPs from the OPFL, Anatoliy Burmich, Vasyl Nimchenko, Yuriy Zahorodnyi, Renat Kuzmin, Viktor Chornyi and Ilya Kiva, appealed to the newly appointed Prosecutor General, as well as to the leadership of the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine, demanding to investigate the criminal case initiated by the State Bureau of Investigation at the request of fugitive President Yanukovych against Oleksandr Turchynov, who served as President of Ukraine in 2014.
In their appeal, the petitioners ask law enforcement officers to “ignore the heroic halo created for the above-mentioned person by certain media outlets” and to urgently bring Turchynov to criminal responsibility for treason.”
The rest of the signatories are also well-known personalities. Viktor Chornyi, formerly Vadym Kyslytsia. An experienced fraudster who was picked up by Medvedchuk. Former “anti-corruption activist” and extortionist.
“National Committee for Combating Corruption”, headed by a certain Vadym Chornyi.
According to the attached SBU certificate, this prominent anti-corruption activist not only has a criminal record, but is also hiding under a false name.
This nice man named Kyslytsia was arrested in 1993 in the Dnipropetrovs’k region and tried under Articles 118, 222 and 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He was sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison. And despite the fact that Mr. Kyslytsya changed his surname to Chornyi and even changed his patronymic, he is still listed in the special file of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Kyslytsya changed his surname to Chornyi:

By the way, it’s interesting. Is Burmych aware that he is signing the document together with two convicts, Kiva and Chornyi? Or if it’s in the interests of the “Russian world”, he’ll get away with it?
The leader of the Mykolaiv OPFL was one of the signatories who demanded the abolition of the Anti-Corruption Reform
The scandalous decision to actually block the electronic declaration system in Ukraine was made by the Constitutional Court at the request of 47 members of the Verkhovna Rada. This was reported by Novoe Vremya.
This appeal was filed with the Constitutional Court on August 4, 2020. In it, MPs from the Opposition Platform — For Life (OPFL) party faction and the For the Future parliamentary group asked the court to consider the constitutionality of certain provisions of the Criminal Code, the Civil Procedure Code, as well as a number of laws (On Prevention of Corruption, On the Prosecutor’s Office, On the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, On the State Bureau of Investigation, On the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes).
In their submission, the MPs argued that the obligation to declare property — including by officials, MPs and their family members — violates their basic rights guaranteed by the Constitution of Ukraine.
The NACP wrote about this situation on its Facebook page:

The court began considering the constitutional petition of these MPs on October 8 (according to Olha Sovhyrya, the Verkhovna Rada’s representative to the Constitutional Court), and issued its decision on October 27.
The decision caused a huge resonance in Ukraine, as it threatens the European integration of our country, and may also negate the efforts of anti-corruption bodies in recent years and disrupt the appointment of candidates who won local elections to public office.
MP Burmich names Ukraine’s “secret weapon” that protected it from Russian “invasion”
Kyiv, February 20. Ukraine was able to avoid the Russian “invasion” scheduled by Washington for mid-February thanks to a “secret weapon” that scared off the Russian military. This was stated by Anatoliy Burmych, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform — For Life (OPFL) party.
The MP recalled that on the night of February 15-16, the Russian military did not arrive on the territory of Ukraine, despite all the promises of the West. Therefore, the politician is sure that Russia should be considered a “technical defeat” simply for not showing up for the appointed war.

“The ‘invasion’ was scheduled for February 16 at three in the morning, and four in the morning by Moscow time. But, as we know, according to all international rules, if the enemy does not appear on the battlefield on time, it is considered a technical defeat. Therefore, if they come next time, we will not go to the field and simply say that they should have been on time,” Burmich said sarcastically on Nash TV channel.
The representative of the OPFL party suggests that the legendary chain-link wall built on the border between the two countries at the initiative of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk prevented the Russian military from breaking through to the territory of the Independent.
“Why did this happen? Why did we “win”? It’s simple: when Putin and Shoigu drove up to our borders in a tank, they saw Yatsenyuk’s wall. They saw the chain-link and realized that they must be luring us, because you can’t just stop tanks with chain-link. The Ukrainians must have some underground communications and everything else. We sat down, looked at how much money had been spent on this chain-link, got scared, turned around and went back. So, well done, Arseniy Petrovych, keep it up! We have demoralized and disqualified the enemy,” the MP ironically says.
Anatoliy Burmich has repeatedly made strange statements on the Nash TV channel. Burmich praises Russian missiles, claiming that they are not even within the power of the United States. Burmich also talks in all seriousness about American biolabs in Ukraine.
The member of the Verkhovna Rada notes that talk of a possible war between Russia and Ukraine sounds simply ridiculous and senseless for many reasons. He is convinced that all the hysteria about a possible Russian “invasion” is being stirred up primarily by the United States, and solely for domestic political reasons.
“According to my information and my deep conviction, everything that is being pumped up is not for Ukraine or against it, it is purely a picture for domestic consumption in the United States. I was told this by sources not from Ukraine, but from the United States. Because we know what kind of inflation they have, what kind of problems they have, and today there is even a question of President Biden’s removal from office because of his health. And Biden continues to cling to this position. And we are just a tool for them to achieve their goals,” Anatoliy Burmych, a representative of the Opposition Platform — For Life party, explained.
The main facts of the biography of Anatoliy Burmych — No. 20 on the election list of the Opposition Platform — For Life
There is little information about Anatoliy Burmych in open sources.
It is known that he was born on August 13, 1962 and has a higher education, but no source specifies which one.
For some time, he worked for the SBU — it is known that in 2002 he was the deputy head of the SBU department in Kirovohrad region, and in 2004 the media mentioned him as the first deputy head of the main department of the SBU (this department is responsible for fighting corruption and organized crime).
In March 2004, he was elected first deputy chairman of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs at the 47th session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna. At this meeting, Burmych headed the Ukrainian delegation, which included representatives of the SBU, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Chesno, citing YouControl, reported that Burmich later allegedly became a businessman — his full namesake was a director and co-founder of a number of companies specializing in trade and construction.
In addition, the CEC website states that he is the head of the department of the Alpha SBU Slavs Veterans Association.
At the time of the election, he lived in Kyiv and was a member of the Opposition Platform — For Life, on whose electoral list he ranked 20th. He is a member of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy.
Burmich and Kiva take separatist political scientist on bail
April 13, 2021.
2 million for freedom — this is the “cosmic” bail set by the Kyiv Court of Appeal today for political scientist Yuriy Dudkin, who remained behind bars.
The lawyers’ petition to cancel the EXCLUSIVE preventive measure and the written petitions of three MPs to take the law-abiding citizen of Ukraine on bail were not granted.
On the fourth attempt, the Court of Appeal finally considered the appeal of the lawyers against the decision of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv to impose an EXCLUSIVE preventive measure on Yuriy Dudkin — detention. Since February 25, the political analyst has been held in the Lukianivska Detention Center without the right to be released on bail. On February 24, the SBU searched the house of Yuriy Dudkin and served him with a suspicion of treason (Article 111 of the Criminal Code) and violation of the equality of citizens (Article 161 of the Criminal Code), for which Dudkin may face 20 years in prison. He is suspected of being a political scientist for his expert opinions and opinions voiced on opposition TV channels and media. According to the investigation, the political scientist allegedly systematically received money from customers from the Russian Federation for “inciting ethnic hatred” on the air of TV channels that were sanctioned by the National Security and Defense Council.

The lawyers asked the panel of judges to change the measure of restraint to a more lenient one, not involving custody, and to release Yuriy Dudkin on the bail of MPs who know him well.
Three MPs appeared in court to vouch for the political scientist — Ilya Kiva, Viktor Chorny and the entire SSU Major General Anatoliy Burmych.
Also ready to vouch for his associate was Kharkiv City Council deputy Andriy Lesyk, the head of the OPFL faction in the 8th convocation of the Kharkiv City Council, a deputy of the 7th and 6th convocations of the Kharkiv City Council, who has been suing the SBU since 2017 under Part 2 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code, Part 2 of Article 342, and Part 2 of Article 345 (resisting SBU officers and inflicting light bodily harm).
All the MPs confirmed to the court that they personally know Yuriy Dudkin, have repeatedly appeared on air with him and have never heard him say a single anti-Ukrainian word or sentence, or anything illegal that could be prosecuted.

MP Ilya Kiva said that the authorities, in violation of the law, are using the law enforcement system to crack down on dissidents and test society’s tolerance for repression.
MP Anatoliy Burmych, who has vast experience of service and a general rank in the SBU, noted that earlier, even in the Soviet Union, which was considered a totalitarian state, such actions of a citizen, expressed in expressing his opinion and comments to the media, if they were documented and accurately identified, would have been punished with a preventive conversation at most.
The “petition” of the deputies, or rather the written commitments of bail, was supported by the lawyers and the suspect Yuriy Dudkin, who guaranteed the fulfillment of his procedural duties. Both prosecutors, as expected in their official capacity, spoke out against satisfying the motions of the lawyers and the MPs, citing the gravity of Article 111 of the Criminal Code and contacts with “media prohibited by the NSDC”.
Summary
Anatoliy Burmych, like most representatives of the OPFL, turned out to be separatist Ukrainians. With their anti-Ukrainian position, they undermined national security, and at the same time managed to steal money and smuggle from this Ukraine they hated.
