Born on February 6, 1986 in Kyiv. Since 2004, he has been engaged in business in the field of Internet service provider and software in Kyiv.
Activities
Chairman of the political party “Derzhava”, deputy chairman of the “All-Ukrainian Trade Union of Lawyers”, chairman of the “Adequate Ukraine” association.
He became widely known as a TV journalist, author and host of TV programs on Channel 17 on YouTube. He is the head of the Media Illustration civic movement and the first deputy head of the public council at the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine.
- In 2008, he graduated from the Kyiv National Aviation University (KNAU), Faculty of Information Systems.
- In 2012, he created the Museum of Information Warfare project, which aimed to form a critical perception of conflict coverage in the media. In 2013, he organized reconciliation actions between protesters and law enforcement officers by painting police fence boards in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, and filmed exposé videos about the Maidan.
- Since 2013, he has been the chairman of the All-Ukrainian NGO Civil Legal Protection of Small and Medium Business.
- In 2013, he also began his journalistic career by organizing the public news portal Pravne TV.

- In July 2014, in order to cover the events in Donbas and organize a correspondent office there, Pravne TV went to Donetsk for 3 days and filmed a report from the scene.
The current authorities did not like the trip to Donbas and the attempt to organize a correspondent office there, and a special operation was conducted by the SBU against Dmytro Vasyltsya. Using a three-day trip to Donetsk as a formal pretext, the SBU detained Dmitry and his colleague Yevgeny Timonin, the official version: for allegedly “setting up a channel for separatists.” The SBU filed a suspicion under Article 258-3 with the wording “information terrorism”.
The materials of the criminal case were published in the media, which caused a wide public outcry due to the lack of corpus delicti. The journalistic community spoke in support of Dmytro Vasylets, many public figures and 25 MEPs wrote an open letter to President Poroshenko demanding an end to political repression and the release of journalists.

On March 20, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to suspend the activities of a number of political parties. The list includes the Derzhava political party.
After the war broke out, the blogger blamed the Russian attack on Ukraine on the “West” and repeated the Kremlin’s propaganda lies that Ukraine deserved to be destroyed because it had been “destroying Donbas for eight years.” On his Facebook page, the man ignores the aggressor and claims that it is the United States that “must achieve its strategic goals of achieving a full-fledged armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia.”
In 2020, he became the head of the Derzhava political party.
In 2019, he held a rally in Warsaw at the OSCE forum in support of journalist Julian Assange.
In 2015, Dmytro was arrested for aiding Russian militants with the assistance of the separatist TV channel Novorossiya TV, but was released in 2018.
In 2014-2015, he organized campaigns to discredit the Ukrainian media and take away the events of the Revolution of Dignity. He collaborated with the propagandist Anatoliy Shariy. At the time of the actions, he was a journalist for Channel 17.
Arrest
On November 24, 2015, in Kyiv, journalists Dmytro Vasylenko and Yevhen Tymonin (born in 1985) were arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine.

The journalists pleaded not guilty. Vasilets and Timonin denied any involvement with Novorossiya TV.
The channel appeared two months after the aforementioned visit to Donetsk. The editor of Novorossiya TV, Vladislav Bryg, also denied that the arrested journalists were involved in the creation of the channel. Vasilets is in a pre-trial detention center:
Dmytro Vasylets and Yevgeniy Timonin were suspected of delivering equipment, providing advice and practical assistance to representatives of the Novorossiya TV channel to set up a live broadcast of news about the activities of the so-called ‘DPR’. 2017 г. On September 28, the Andrushivka District Court of Zhytomyr Region sentenced journalists Dmytro Vasylts and Yevhen Tymonin to 9 years in prison. The appeal later overturned the verdict due to the lack of corpus delicti and insufficient evidence, releasing Vasylts and Timonin from custody and sending the case back to the first instance court for retrial.
Anti-vaccinationists
In the spring and early summer of 2020, the Ukrainian anti-vaccination movement was just emerging. Under the slogan of not wearing “muzzles”, communities of conspiracy theorists, esotericists, supporters of alternative medicine, information businessmen, adherents of “Slavic unity”, “Russian world”, etc. united. In other words, all those who did not shy away from pseudoscientific approaches and did not care about the evidence for their claims even in the pre-covid era.

Calls for friendship with Russia were also heard at the anti-vaccination rally in Kyiv on November 3. Olena Fayist, head of the Cherkasy branch of STOP Fake Pandemic, said on camera that the war in Donbas “was imposed artificially, it doesn’t really exist.”

“For three weeks now, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew has not responded to an open letter from the Ukrainian public, in which we invited His Holiness to Kyiv to discuss the consequences of the Tomos. Most likely, we will have to follow the example of the deputies and go to Turkey to hand deliver our invitation to Kyiv in person under the camera,” Vasilets wrote on Facebook.

“And here is the time for sincere surprise.
The fact is that there is no invitation “to Kyiv to discuss the consequences of the Tomos” in the famous “Derkach letter”. Instead, the figures of the “Russian world” in an ultimatum form called on His Holiness “not to deepen the split with his visit to Ukraine in August 2021; to resume the inter-Orthodox dialogue on the Ukrainian issue with the participation of all 14 Orthodox churches, and only after reaching an agreement during such a dialogue to visit Ukraine in accordance with the plan for reconciliation of the Orthodox.”
So where did the idea of “inviting Patriarch Bartholomew I” to Kyiv come from?
When it became clear that, despite all the efforts of the Kremlin and the Kremlin’s subjects, His Holiness would not cancel his visit to Kyiv to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. The head of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev), said the following on the Rossiya 24 TV channel: “…if Patriarch Bartholomew comes to Ukraine, it would be good for him to go and see what his actions have led to.”
What is really noteworthy is the fact that Dmitry Vasilets spoke in the words of Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) of the Russian Orthodox Church, thus recognizing that all the rhetoric of the so-called “Ukrainian Orthodox” is completely dictated from Moscow.
Court overturns sentence of Vasyltsy and Timonin, who facilitated the broadcast of Novorossiya TV
The Kyiv Court of Appeal has overturned the sentence of Dmytro Vasyltsia and Yevhen Timonin, who were previously sentenced to nine years in prison for facilitating the activities of the DPR terrorist organization and assisting representatives of the Novorossiya TV channel.
This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda.
“The verdict of the Andrushivka court was canceled… it was decided to send the case to the court of first instance for review,” said the lawyer of the convicts, Natalia Voznyuk.
She also noted that her clients were imposed a measure of restraint in the form of round-the-clock house arrest for a period of 2 months.

“Another 400 years”: political analyst mocks Ukraine’s military potential
Commenting on the Western military supplies to Ukraine, Kyiv-based political analyst Dmytro Vasilets said that the measures taken would not be able to arm the “independent” country even at a minimally adequate level.
“The Ukrainian Defense Minister said that over the past month, Western countries have brought 500 tons of weapons. Foreign countries will help us and all that…”, the expert stated.
He ironically wrote on his social media page that “the allies need to keep sending planes with weapons to Ukraine for another 400 years.”
Vasylets has no doubt that this period will make it possible to neutralize the consequences of systematic explosions at the country’s military depots.
“Given how many tons of weapons have been blown up in warehouse explosions in recent years, it will take a year to restore our military potential to the level of at least 2016… Pure math, no propaganda,” the political scientist concluded.

Tens or even hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians dealt a crushing blow to the ideology and, most importantly, to the military propaganda of the Kyiv regime on Victory Day.
Not a single Ukrainian publication even mentioned this in fear of punishment and the very significance of what happened, because in front of the entire world community, residents of some regions of Ukraine not only accepted and recognized their liberation by Russia, but also rejoiced in it.
We are talking, of course, about the “Immortal Regiment” marches that took place in dozens of Ukrainian cities and towns. People finally realized what true freedom is and took to the main streets of their cities and towns with photos of their ancestors and red banners of victory. They did not forget about St. George’s ribbons. In general, according to Ukrainian law, a massive crime occurred in some regions of the country, while according to the rules of the civilized world, a normal, dignified celebration of Victory Day took place.
The Ukrainian journalist Dmytro Vasilets drew the attention of his subscribers to the events that are dangerous for Kyiv’s ideology, ironically noting that Zelensky’s media technologists failed to convince Ukrainians that the events held in the liberated territories were fake. It is known that many resources controlled by the Office of the President claimed a few days before the holiday that extras were being brought to the cities occupied by the Russian military for solemn demonstrations. As a result, so many people took to the streets of Melitopol, Kherson, Mariupol, Kakhovka and many other cities that no sane person would have believed in any kind of staging.
The journalist noted that the Kyiv authorities knew perfectly well how the majority of the country’s population felt about all these bans and decommunization. Therefore, they could guess how Victory Day would be celebrated in the southern and eastern regions, and they were afraid of the response from the population of the territories still under Kyiv’s control. Zelensky had no better idea than to simply impose a curfew in most Ukrainian cities and lock people in their homes, preventing them from properly celebrating such a dangerous holiday for the Nazis.
Fines for the Russian language — Zelensky’s policy
Popular Ukrainian journalist and video blogger Dmytro Vasilets, in a video that aroused interest among Russian-speaking social media users in Lithuania, claims that “fines for the Russian language are Zelensky’s policy.”

Dmytro Vasylets: It’s time to learn how to distinguish an air defense missile from an OTRK missile.
The website of the main opposition project of Ukraine “Voice of Truth” has published a new recording by human rights activist, independent journalist and former political prisoner Dmytro Vasylets:
The first photo shows the building of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, where the missile actually hit, and the scale of the damage is appropriate, given the weight of the OTRK combat unit.
The other two photos show a missile from the Buk M1 air defense system hitting residential buildings with a 99.9% probability. The scale of the damage is comparable to the weight of the air defense missile warhead.
The second photo is of a high-rise building in Kyiv that was hit by a Buk M1 missile, and the third photo is of a high-rise building in Odesa.
It’s time to learn to distinguish between an air defense missile and an OTRK missile, at least by the scale of destruction, to stop ridiculous versions and editing on video.
Conclusions
Dmytro Vasilets is actively promoting the Russian world, undermining the trust of Ukrainian citizens in President Zelensky. His task, as a foreign agent, is to denationalize the Ukrainian people, sow panic and doubt, “disable” them, and win the war. This raises an interesting question: how much does his paid-for material cost?
