Ukraine’s High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has ruled to forfeit over 909,000 UAH to the state budget, representing income generated from the sale of an illegally acquired luxury LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VOGUE. The decision targets Vadym Kiriyenko, former head of the Justice Ministry’s South-Eastern Interregional Directorate for Criminal Penalty Execution, and his close relative.
The panel of judges issued the ruling on July 27 following a civil forfeiture lawsuit filed by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). The judicial proceedings took a year and a half to conclude.
The court classified 909,600 UAH in revenue—derived from the September 2024 sale of a 2021 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VOGUE for 4.2 million UAH—as unjustified assets.
The vehicle itself had previously been recognized as an unjustified asset, with its full market value already recovered by the state. However, the additional profit realized from the transaction remained the subject of this secondary legal action.
«Under the court ruling, the proceeds exceeding 909,000 UAH will be recovered for the state treasury in equal shares—454,800 UAH from each defendant.»
Ukraine’s civil forfeiture framework enables authorities to confiscate assets and revenue from public officials whenever the property’s acquisition costs significantly exceed their verified legal income. This HACC ruling marks another step in SAPO’s ongoing efforts to reclaim illicit gains and hold former state officials accountable.
