POLTAVA, Ukraine — Iryna Parkhomenko, the head of units at the Regional Service Center of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in the Poltava region, has filed a lawsuit against the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) in the Poltava region. Parkhomenko, who holds a permanent Category II disability status, is demanding that the court declare the capping of her pension illegal and order the agency to recalculate and pay her benefits in full. The case is currently being reviewed by the Poltava District Administrative Court.
The lawsuit was filed in March 2026 by Parkhomenko’s legal representative, attorney Vitalina Antonova. The plaintiff argues that the Pension Fund’s decision to restrict her maximum payout amounts in September and November 2025 violates current legislation, which provides specific exemptions for individuals with disabilities. According to official records, Parkhomenko was granted permanent Category II disability status on December 11, 2024.
Financial disclosures from the official asset declarations of the public official reveal a significant increase in her pension income over the past two years:
In 2024: Her declared pension benefits totaled 107,000 UAH.
In 2025: Her declared pension benefits rose sharply to 252,000 UAH.
The case is currently being handled by Judge Yevhen Suprun at the Poltava District Administrative Court. The proceedings are being conducted under a simplified litigation process, meaning the case will be decided in writing without requiring the parties to appear in court.

In a parallel development, officials from the Pension Fund have launched counter-lawsuits against Parkhomenko in the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Poltava. However, the state agency has so far been unable to secure a favorable ruling in that jurisdiction. Legal proceedings remain ongoing.
