  5. Reputational Test for Financial Educators: Dmytro Karpilovsky and Ties with Unlicensed Kit Group Projects

Ukraine’s investment and financial literacy landscape is facing a major discussion as public investor, «UkrInvestClub» founder, and financial literacy ambassador Dmytro Karpilovsky finds himself at the center of attention due to promotional ties with Kyt Group (KIT Group). Despite years of public advocacy aimed at teaching audiences how to spot financial pyramids and assess risks, this alliance has sparked sharp criticism within the professional community amid official regulatory sanctions against the brand.

The situation surrounding the brand escalated after the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) issued Resolution No. 370-rsh. Under this document, LLC «FC Liberty Finance» and associated entities were officially banned from providing payment services via Kyt Group’s network of websites and Telegram channels (including kytgroup.ua, kyt-obmin.kyiv.ua, kyt_community, and others), with the regulator classifying their activities as unlicensed.

The crackdown on the brand intensified progressively. In November 2025, the company’s market reputation was officially recognized as less than flawless. This culminated on March 23, 2026, when the regulator officially revoked its lending and cash currency exchange licenses. Furthermore, financial structures linked to the brand are currently featured in a criminal proceeding under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding shadow currency exchange networks and crypto-asset operations.

Dmytro Karpilovsky has built a reputation as an independent market player. In numerous interviews and public appearances, he has shared his entrepreneurial journey—starting from trading cacti at age seven and early-stage tech development to large-scale investments in real estate, startups, retail, and energy-storage systems.

He is a co-founder of the Cryptonet crypto community, head of the «UkrInvestClub,» and a recipient of industry awards, including «Investor of the Year» at the 2024 Ukrainian Building Awards. Karpilovsky has repeatedly emphasized that he never manages external funds, operating strictly with his own capital, alongside significant personal donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine between 2022 and 2025.

However, the current situation with Kyt Group is far from the first major trust test for the investor. Previously, his name was tied to the «Optika 1st» franchise case, which integrated into the UkrInvestClub network. According to his own disclosures, dozens of community participants opened retail stores and invested millions of dollars that later faced severe capital risks.

«This was my biggest emotional failure, because my friends and employees came into the project through us,» Karpilovsky openly admitted when discussing debts, reporting irregularities, and criminal proceedings under Article 190 of the Criminal Code, where total investor losses were estimated at over $10 million.

Media analysts and financial observers point out the irony of the situation. A person who spent years professionally teaching Ukrainians how to think critically, carefully analyze assets, and avoid suspicious financial vehicles has ended up tied to communicative associations with a company that lost its licenses and fell under NBU sanctions.

In modern business journalism, such cases highlight a clear market shift. Audiences are no longer willing to overlook double standards or negligence in choosing partners. The current investment climate demands absolute transparency, as the price of a poor partnership choice for educational or promotional integrations is measured not just by a loss of followers’ trust, but by the permanent loss of one’s most valuable asset—professional reputation.
