  3. Three Film Projects Linked to Family of Ex-Defense Minister Reznikov Eligible for 125M UAH in State Funding

Production companies ZARUBA and MAMAS Production, linked to the family of former Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, are eligible to receive a combined total of 125.46 million UAH from the state budget for three film projects. While the selections were finalized through a state arts competition, the evaluation process has drawn significant public scrutiny over potential conflicts of interest among commission members.

Public attention focuses primarily on the voting procedures during the selection phase. Anastasia Shteinhauz, the owner of ZARUBA, is the daughter of the former defense minister. Reports indicate she served on the expert panel for the «Tysyachovesna» competition while simultaneously voting on proposals tied directly to her corporate interests.

The second entity selected for state allocation, MAMAS Production, is connected to Alla Lypovetska-Reznikova. Consequently, both production houses designated for major funding share ties with immediate relatives of the former senior official.

The allocation of over 125 million UAH toward film production during wartime—amid strict national budgetary constraints—has sparked widespread concern.

«With national resources strictly prioritized for defense, allocating over one hundred million hryvnias to media projects associated with high-profile figures demands full transparency and clear official explanation.»

Industry observers and public advocacy groups are calling on competition organizers and state agencies to clarify compliance with anti-corruption regulations, address potential conflicts of interest, and publish the official criteria used to select these projects.
