Compromising evidence
According to media reports, the politician’s father, Sergey Tarasov, has been accused of raider attacks on numerous occasions. In particular, the scandal related to the attack on Rostok Holding became public.
Journalists noted that as a result of a series of illegal actions, the new owner of the company was A&U Group Ukraine, founded by Tarasov.

Mr. Tarasov also has a long-standing partnership with businessman Yakov Gribov, the founder of the Ukrainian vodka company Nemiroff. It was he who was named as one of the beneficiaries of the Rostock Holding bankruptcy.
Grybov left Ukraine several years ago and, according to Russian media, lives in the Moscow region and is sometimes identified as a supporter of Viktor Medvedchuk, one of the leaders of the Opposition Platform — For Life party.
Involvement in a road accident

In 2012, the MP was involved in a serious accident when he rammed a traffic police car. After the accident, he tried to flee the scene, but law enforcement officers identified the driver and opened criminal proceedings against him. According to media reports, the team of Oleh’s father eventually succeeded in terminating the investigation.

Four years later, Tarasov, driving an elite Range Rover SUV, rammed another car. And in 2018, while intoxicated, he drove into a metal pillar.

Oleh Serhiyovych is among the MPs who have included the largest number of properties in their declarations. Thus, the MP registered 41 properties (mostly land plots in Kirovohrad region) with a total area of 1.107 million square meters (1.1 square kilometers).
Business connections and Taruta’s party
As for the agrarian businessman’s son, Oleh Tarasov, he is closely connected to his father’s business. In particular, Oleg is a beneficiary of several agricultural companies: Trading House Agrospetsservice LLC, Agro-Tempo Farm, Esset Trade PE, Ukrainian Grain Union LLC, etc.
It is noteworthy that among the co-founders of the latter company, along with Tarasov Jr. is Ruslan Zgryvets, known as the co-owner of the Khlibodar agricultural company. The latter’s father, in turn, became a deputy of the Kirovohrad City Council from the BPP and got involved in a corruption scandal because he refused to declare more than 20 of his companies.
Some media outlets claim that Ruslan Zgryvets, a companion of Oleh Tarasov, is currently on close terms with Andriy Nikolayenko, the head of the Osnova party (Serhiy Taruta).
Danutsa and Tarasov “kept company” with Larin, Nikolayenko and Poroshenko
The VRU Regulatory Committee proposes to stop paying reimbursement of expenses related to the exercise of powers to two MPs from Kropyvnytskyi.

A copy of the relevant draft decision was published on Telegram by their colleague Oleksiy Honcharenko. Oleksandr Danutsa and Oleh Tarasov of the Servant of the People party were included in the list (see below) of MPs who did not participate in more than 30% of the votes or more than 50% of the plenary sessions in November 2019.

«- The only thing left for me to do is to quote a classic: ‘There is no crisis, they just don’t go to the Rada meetings. And when they do, it’s only to vote for lobbying laws that will help them and their friends make money,» Honcharenko wrote.
According to the list he published in the draft decision, Danutsa took part in 55% of the votes on parliamentary decisions last month, while Tarasov took part in 35%.

Declaration
According to his income tax return for 2019, Oleh Sergiyovych owns the following real estate: a residential building in Kyiv, a non-residential building in Kropyvnytskyi, and 36 land plots (located in different villages and cities of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Novhorodka, Novooleksandrivka, and Subottsi). It is interesting that the “servant of the people” did not specify the value of this property in the document — apparently, in order not to shock voters.

The MP also declares several objects of unfinished construction — an 86 m2 apartment in Irpin. Another 29 apartments are registered in the names of other people, but Tarasov has the right to use the property. The politician is likely to have invested in the construction of a residential complex.

Oleh Serhiiovych travels around in several luxury cars: a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover (worth UAH 5.6 million) and a 2010 Bentley Continental (worth UAH 1.3 million).
In 2019, he earned UAH 8.9 million. Of this, the deputy’s salary amounted to only 154 thousand. Another 20 million was a gift in cash.
Tarasov keeps one million hryvnias, 21 dollars and 50 euros in his bank accounts. The politician has no cash savings.
Summary
It’s a story as old as time: if your father is an oligarch, there is no law for you. That’s why Tarasov faces no criminal liability after serious accidents in which he is directly to blame. That is why he was able to get into politics, because his father sponsored his election campaign. In this country, money is the main leverage and tool of power.
