  3. Luxury Estate for $1 Million: MP Medianyk Spotted at Undeclared Property Near Kyiv

Vyacheslav Medianyk, a Member of Parliament from the «Servant of the People» faction, is allegedly residing in an undeclared luxury estate worth approximately $1 million in the village of Khodosivka near Kyiv. The official owner of the property is a former nanny of his children, who earned just over 260,000 hryvnias over a 10-year period. This was revealed in a new investigation by journalists.

According to investigative reporters, the estate, which spans roughly 370 square meters, is located in the secured gated community «Khutir Yasnyi.» Officially, the MP’s family owns only a 100-square-meter apartment in a club house within the same community. In 2024, this apartment was registered under the name of the politician’s underage daughter and was duly included in his asset declaration.

However, investigators documented that a 2024 Porsche Cayenne, owned by the MP’s wife Inna Medianyk, departs each morning not from the declared apartment building, but from the grounds of the separate private estate.

According to the real estate registry, a Dnipro resident named Nelya Kovalenko became the owner of this estate in June 2021. Journalists discovered that in the GetContact database, her number is saved under tags such as «Nella Inna’s nanny» and «Medianyk nanny Nella.» Prior to 2021, she had no record of entrepreneurial activity. However, shortly before purchasing the mansion, she became a co-founder of the company «Antar Plus,» where Vyacheslav Medianyk himself was one of the co-founders.

The lawmaker denies residing in the luxury cottage. According to him, his family lives in the declared apartment, and he explained the vehicle’s departures from the private property as a security measure. Medianyk claims that the property owner is a friend who simply allows them to park their car there in case of Russian missile strikes.

The politician described Kovalenko as a «self-sufficient person» and stated that auditing her finances was inappropriate:

«The question of her income and everything else… For me to ask her about it would be incorrect. If you look at her employment history, she worked in Dnipro at large enterprises, at paint and varnish factories, at a plant… She handled logistics issues there.»

However, the woman’s official income contradicts the narrative of a highly lucrative career. Journalists established that Kovalenko did work at a Dnipro paint factory and within the humanitarian policy department of the city council, but her earnings were minimal. Over the 10 years preceding the purchase of the mansion, her total official income amounted to just over 260,000 hryvnias, making the independent purchase of luxury real estate near Kyiv mathematically impossible.

At present, law enforcement agencies and the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) have not commented on potential illicit enrichment or the submission of false data in the official’s declaration.
