Ukrainian Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak previously worked for a Russian consulting firm and served as an assistant to a former pro-Russian lawmaker, while his close relatives maintain business ties with Russia and occupied Donetsk. These findings were published by media outlets following a recent investigation into the politician’s background.

According to the reported data, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak was formerly employed by Kesarev Consulting, a Russian government relations and lobbying firm.
In addition, investigative reports reveal that the politician served as an official assistant to Oleksiy Plotnikov, a former Member of Parliament representing the pro-Russian Party of Regions.
Journalists also highlighted the commercial activities and assets associated with the lawmaker’s immediate family:
Father-in-law: Volodymyr Koval heads the Ukrainian enterprise «Tradefield Ukraine.» The entity is part of the Russian agricultural conglomerate «Yug Rusi,» owned by Russian businessman Sergey Kislov.
Mother: Iryna Zheleznyak (Khodarina) holds a co-ownership stake in LLC «Congress Hall Office Center Management Company,» located in temporarily occupied Donetsk.
«The premises of the Donetsk ‘Congress Hall’ currently house the administration of the so-called ‘DPR’ and Russian FSB units. Furthermore, Iryna Zheleznyak lists Moscow as her current place of residence on the banned Russian social network VKontakte,» the media report notes.
As of now, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak and his press team have not issued an official statement regarding the published media reports concerning his past political work and his family’s business ties to Russia.
