Ukraine’s National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) has completed its sole full audit of Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak’s 2022 asset declaration, finding no violations. However, the lawmaker’s 2023 and 2024 financial statements—which previously raised questions among journalists and the public—remain unexamined by the agency.
According to NACP Certificate No. 100/25 dated February 14, 2025, the audit spanned nearly four months, running from October 14, 2024, to February 10, 2025. The review targeted the declaration submitted by Zheleznyak on January 27, 2024. During the investigation, the agency also utilized materials from a full audit of a family member’s declaration for the same period.

The review proceeded despite incomplete records from external entities. Explanations and documentation from the MP were received by the agency only on December 20. Furthermore, an inquiry sent to PJSC «Kherson Grain Products Plant» on October 31, 2024, went unanswered, with the envelope returned marked «expired storage period.» Consequently, the agency finalized its findings based solely on available data.
Despite clearing the 2022 audit, the politician’s most high-profile financial reports have yet to face NACP scrutiny. Notably, Zheleznyak’s 2023 declaration revealed a Kyiv apartment measuring 134.4 square meters and valued at over 11.6 million UAH (approx. $280,000). The property is registered under the MP’s father-in-law, though Zheleznyak’s family actively resides there.
Investigative journalists and civic activists have repeatedly pointed out discrepancies between the family’s official income and the property’s market value. In response to official inquiries, the NACP confirmed that the 2023 declaration did not trigger a full audit under its risk-oriented screening system and is not currently scheduled for review. The MP’s 2024 declaration also remains unverified.
