A number of scandals have been dogging the permanent mayor of Pivdenne, Volodymyr Novatskyi.
As soon as the case of the Police Department of Internal Affairs against the mayor of Pivdenne on the accrual of unjustified million-dollar bonuses had not yet subsided, NABU detectives became interested in the case of Novatsky, who, in cooperation with Oleksandr Tkachenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant Party, is robbing the community of millions of hryvnias.
Local civic activists discovered a conspiracy between the MP and the mayor to exempt the payment of land lease for a garage cooperative owned by Tkachenko’s family. Novatskyi managed to get a preferential rental rate for Yuzhparkservis LLC (39534303) through the session. Now, all the money collected by the LLC from 8 hectares of parking lots and garages goes into the pocket of the deputy’s family, and the community loses significant funds, which are very important due to the downtime of Pivdennyi port and the OPP.
Initially, the LLC was registered in the name of the MP himself, but after being elected to the Verkhovna Rada, he re-registered the company to his brother, Andrii Tkachenko. As a member of the Verkhovna Rada, Tkachenko agreed with Novatskyi on a preferential lease, after which significant funds began to settle in the pockets of the Tkachenko family every month.
NABU detectives have already opened proceedings, as the mayor and the deputy are subjects of their department. The Vostok NGO, for its part, has been very active in defending the interests of the community and will not let the corrupt officials off the hook. Moreover, the President himself has announced an initiative to equate corruption with the article «high treason.»
